Online trading journal for the browser and iPhone
Astro Trading Journal is an online trading journal, in the browser, where you log trades and review the results on the same account as the iPhone app.
Log a trade and read the day
In Astro you enter each trade by hand in the browser. The journal calendar then colors each day by P&L (profit and loss) and by trade count, so the month's result and any day's closed trades are one click away.
On the Journal tab, the September 2026 calendar shows a month P&L of +$1,387.50. Wednesday the 23rd shows a closed TSLA trade at +$85.00.
One account in the browser and on iPhone
Astro is an iPhone app and a full web app in the browser, on one account, and you open the web app with nothing to install.
A trade, note or reflection you add on the phone shows up in the browser. Both work out the same metrics by the same rules, so the numbers match when you log on the phone and review on a larger screen.
Net P&L, win rate and the setup breakdown
Beyond the day's total, analytics show net P&L and gross P&L, win rate, and average win against average loss. Win rate is how often closed trades made money. Average win is the profit on winning trades divided by the number of winners, and average loss is the loss on losing trades divided by the number of losers.
Drawdown shows once you set a starting balance. Results break down by symbol, asset class, direction, setup and playbook. Long trades and short trades are totaled separately.
You tag a setup on a trade, and setups are grouped into named playbooks that can be compared side by side. The comparison shows which setup made money, and whether long trades or short trades made more money.
Stocks, forex, futures and crypto in one journal
Each trade is recorded in the unit its market uses for size, and P&L is worked out from that size. A futures contract is never valued like a share, and each trade keeps its own currency.
| Market | Recorded as |
|---|---|
| Forex | Lots, with the symbol's contract size |
| Stocks | Shares |
| Futures | Contracts, with a point value |
| Crypto | Units, including fractional sizes |
| Stock and futures CFDs | Contract size |
A lot is the size unit forex uses, with the symbol's contract size. Futures contracts carry a point value. That is what a one-point move in the contract is worth. The value comes from the contract's tick value and tick size, or from a value per move you set by hand. Crypto can be a fraction of a coin. A CFD (contract for difference) on a stock or a future is recorded by contract size, and a futures CFD stays distinct from an exchange-traded futures contract.
Each trade keeps the currency it settled in. A reporting currency rolls the totals up when trades settle in different currencies.
Which brokers connect on the web or the iPhone
On Premium, connect a broker or exchange and the trades sync into the journal on their own. Exchange connections use read-only API keys to read the trade history.
Where each connection is made
- MetaTrader 5 and TradeLocker connect on the web and on iPhone. One TradeLocker login can bring in several trading accounts.
- Binance (spot and futures), Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, OKX, BingX and Robinhood Crypto connect in the iPhone app, and those trades show in the browser.
Interactive Brokers is coming soon.
Free journal, with broker sync on Premium
Astro's free plan is the whole journal, with no trade cap, in the browser and on iPhone. Manual entry, analytics, setups and playbooks, trade reflections, Daily Rewind and notes are all included.
You add a reflection by picking what influenced the trade, from 18 influences. Behavior ones include followed plan, revenge, FOMO (fear of missing out), rushed, hesitated and overtraded. Mindset ones include calm, focused, anxious, frustrated, overconfident, tired, fear and greed. Astro then ranks the influences that come up most, with the net P&L and win rate behind each.
Daily Rewind is an end-of-day check-in. You go through that day's closed trades that have no reflection yet, rate how well the day followed your plan from 1 (Off plan) to 5 (Fully followed), and mark each of your own rules as followed, partly followed, or broken.
After you save, Daily Rewind can point out one pattern it noticed, and a strip shows which recent days were reviewed.
Notes is a space beside the trade log. The editor has headings, lists and formatting, and you can place images in the note. Notes stay on the same account in the browser and on iPhone.
Premium adds broker and exchange sync and unlimited AI Reviews. Every account gets one AI Review. A Performance Review reads the last 20 closed trades, and a Behavior Review reads the last 10 reflections. Astro computes every figure first. The review explains those figures, then suggests one small experiment to try next and the metric to watch.
The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial. You can buy Premium in the iPhone app through the App Store, or on the web, where Paddle, the reseller, handles payment, tax and receipts. Either way it is one Premium on one account, unlocked on iPhone and on the web.
